Greetings from Sunny Florida, Judy and I are in Lakeland for Daniel's ordination. Then we will go to Brazil for a couple weeks before returning to New York at the end of August.

I found this note from Mike Paris waiting for me this morning. Here is what he said and the latest update on Ethan.

Harold

Mike Paris writes...

<< Harold and pray-ers, Today is day 21. 3 weeks ago, our family's life was disrupted by a tragedy. Ethan continues to make improvement and is recovering from the serious car accident that took the life of his mother/Thad's wife/our sister-in-law. I know that many of you that are still praying are doing so because this story is too familiar to you -- it sounds like something that you have been through. That actually is a great comfort to me... it allows me to be especially ready to minister to others liek you all around me.

<< Here is this morning's update. The "history" can be read in his journal at www.caringbridge.org/visit/ethanparis
Thanks again for praying! Note Thad's concluding statements!!

<< Ethan has been discharged!.... well, from 7W, at least. Yesterday afternoon the doctors on the pediatric unit officially discharged Ethan and the staff from 2N (rehab unit) admitted him.

<< Even though the rehab unit is for patients of all ages, Ethan will have some specialized pediatric care. In addition, he will have a whole room to himself, unless they happen to admit another patient that is close in age to Ethan.

<< This means that Ethan (and Daddy) have plenty of room to move and spread out. It also means that daddy can spend the night and even have a bed to sleep in (until they decide they need it for another patient).

<< Ethan's therapy schedule will fill up his day from 8:30 (breakfast) until 2:30 each afternoon. He will get to do all kinds of physical therapy, occupationa l therapy, and cognitive therapy. In fact, we're off to his first cgnitive session right now!

<< Ethan continues to make significant progress and has added shaking his head yes and no to different questions. He also got to meet a little girl last night who is in a wheelchair. We had a fun time racing around the halls (until she got too close to the exit and set the alarm off).

<< Once we see how tired he is after his daily workouts, we'll be able to decide how to best accomodate visitors. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. It is very exciting to see how that all translates into Ethan's healing and recovery. (brother's note: You have had a ministry in this family's life and in the healing for one little boy who doesn't know you by name. Thanks ESF'ers!)
