The parents of one of our seniors (a boy named Peter) was in an accident last night. Mom died in the accident. Dad is in a hospital in ICU and in critical condition. Peter was not with them. The family goes to Faith Baptist here in Cortland. Please pray for Peter and the folks at Faith and for us at Cortland Christian Academy. I did get the hospital information incorrect. Peter Sr. is in Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. Young Peter and his brother are with their grandparents (Eldridge) in the Endicott area. Peter Sr. has been conscious a few times and able to communicate. As of yet he has not been told about his wife (Tammy) because his physical condition is so unstable. Pastor Matt from Faith Baptist here in Cortland has been with the family. His physical condition is still critical, but he is more conscious. The family is not at the hospital now, thus giving him opportunity to rest. Dad and Mom - Peter Eldridge Sr., and Tammy. Tammy is the one who was killed in the auto accident. The accident occured on Route 26 between Endicott and Whitney Point. Peter lost control of the car on a curve and it slid into the path of an oncoming van. The van struck the car on the passenger side. It is felt that Tammy went to be with the Lord instantly. There are three children. A daughter (21). Two sons - Peter Jr. (18) who is the Senior at CCA, and Cody whose 15th birthday was on Sunday, the day after the accident. Tammy's maiden name was Price. She is from the Jasper, NY area and has two brothers who work for the Family Life Network in Bath, NY. Peter Sr.'s mother, Sharon, was an Estes. She is sister to Debbie Perry whose husband, Vic, has been the pastor at East Lawrence Baptist Church for m-a-n-y years. Judy and I enjoyed good fellowship with them when we were in the Addison area. Sharon's father was the late Ernest Estes who was serving as pastor of the Borden Baptist church in the Addison area when he went home to be with the Lord several years ago. Peter Jr., was able to stop by the school yesterday. His Senior Class and the faculty and staff rallied around him with expressions of concern. He's going to do okay, but he needs a lot of prayer as he deals with all of the stuff that gets thrown into the soul of a teenager when a parent dies. (Actually, I think it's not just something which happens to children or teens.) Pray much for Pastor Matt at Faith. This has been a very strenuous several days for him. We are all grateful for the role which Pastor Dave (the youth pastor at Faith) and I am grateful for the work-companionsship of our own youth pastor (Nate) who has been a part of our team here investing in young Peter's life. Peter Sr. is now off the breathing apparatus and showing good indications of successfully coming out of this trauma. I believe that he was still listed as critical as of last night, but he is progressing well. Funeral arrangements are pending his ability to work through the matters necessary to make arrangements. In the meantime... A pre-funeral Memorial service is being held for folks in the Jasper / Bath area and any others who wish to attend. The information is as follows: A Memorial Service For Tammy J. Eldridge will be held Saturday at 1PM at Boyds Corners Bible Church that is located at the intersection of CR-21 and CR-123 (Boyd's Corners Rd.) in Cameron, NY. It is about a 2 hour drive from Cortland. If you would like more precise directions to the church you might contact Pastor L D Maxson at Tuscarora Baptist (ldmaxson at juno.com). Judy and I have been away too long to trust our memories as to what the route looks like. Keep on praying. Harold -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
