Dear Brothers & Sisters of the ESF:

I am writing first of all to thank you for praying for my daughter, Meredith
Lee, during her major surgery performed April 28th and her recovery. She
came through the surgery in a remarkable way considering all that was done -
removal of her cancerous thyroid, removal of her gall bladder and more work
in the colon area. However, she contracted a serious staph infection but
seems to be recovering from that due to a very strong antibiotic. She needs
continued prayer is she continues to battle this cancer. She will definitely
have to have more chemotherapy when her body is healed sufficiently enough
for that.

I also have a personal request for myself. I discovered a small lump on the
upper part of my left chest in late January. I went to my doctor just as
soon as I could get an appointment. He thought it was just fatty tissue. He
sent me for a chest x-ray which came back clear. However, the lump continued
to grow and I went back to my doctor and he sent me to a pathologist and a
surgeon. The pathologist did a needle biopsy and it did not show anything.
The surgeon then called for an MRI of the chest. It showed a large mass in
the upper left chest area. At that point I asked for an oncology surgeon to
look at it and he ordered an open biopsy. The results revealed a malignant
tumor. After consultation with the tumor board at the hospital my surgeon,
radiologist and medical oncologist it was determined that the best course of
action was to have six weeks of radiation followed by surgery with the
possibility of further radiation after surgery. I begin the six weeks of
radiation on Tuesday, June 17th. My surgeon told me that my problem is
TREATABLE and CURABLE.

I have three passionate desires as I go through this experience - (1) I want
Jesus Christ to be magnified; (2) I want God's people to be edified; and (3)
I want lost people to be evangelized. Please pray that these desires will be
fulfilled abundantly as my family and I go through this experience. The Lord
has already given me some fantastic opportunities to witness and I am
trusting Him for more such opportunities. My people at Brooklyn Baptist
Church have been so supportive. We had a fantastic service today and I am
looking forward to the Lord really working in our midst in the future.

Thank you for reading this long epistle and thank you, in advance, for all
your prayers and concerns on behalf of me and my family.
